What to Expect During the Moodle Upgrade January 3, 2024
Moodle is scheduled for a significant upgrade on January 3, 2024. The upgrade is the result of the retirement of Calvin's current Moodle version and user-interface, among other factors; the upgrade also provides a more accessible, standardized, and user-friendly version of Moodle, especially for new users.
Calvin can expect Moodle to be out of service January 3, 2024, starting at 12:00 a.m. An announcement will be made to Viva Engage when Moodle is back online. The upgrade window was chosen because during early January, Calvin will host fewer classes than a full-term semester. Also, the first weeks of January will allow faculty and students to acclimate to Moodle 4.1 before the 2024 Spring courses begin.
