This is a historic note on an outage we identified impacted Calvin yesterday: Starting approximately 3 AM on Monday, 20 October 2025, AWS, a cloud service provider, experienced multiple outages in the services they provide. One of our direct vendors, FormAssembly, use underlying AWS services in their products.
We determined today, in reviewing logs, that multiple form submissions failed to complete yesterday: requests for tutoring, nursing applications, and updates to student contact information, among other potential forms, failed with an error message presented to our students/staff. While AWS services recovered at various times yesterday, we saw failures until around 2 PM Eastern, at which time form submissions completed without error or delay.
We have reprocessed any failed submissions from yesterday into our system on the afternoon of 21 October 2025.
